Abstract

Background: Auditory hallucinations are perceptual disorders in which a person hears sounds that do not actually exist, and are often experienced by people with mental disorders. The voice that appears can be pleasant, threatening, telling to kill, or destructive. To overcome these hallucinations, sufferers are advised to do several ways, namely: rebuking hallucinations, talking to other people, doing scheduled activities, and maintaining regularity in taking medication. If these methods are not consistently practiced, the patient may continue to be disturbed by the hallucinations. The impact of auditory hallucinations can be very serious, such as loss of self-control, behaviour influenced by hallucinatory sounds, panic, hysteria, excessive fear, and even dangerous thoughts and actions. One important technique that can help is the technique of rebuking, which is a conscious act of rejecting or resisting hallucinations as an attempt at self-control. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the technique of rebuking on schizophrenic hallucination patients with the nursing problem of auditory hallucination sensory perception disorder in Bugisan Village Kebondalem Lor. Method: The method used in this study was a case study approach, the subjects used were 2 (two) respondents. Results: After the application of rebuking therapy for 5 days with the duration of each meeting of 15 minutes, the results of signs and symptoms in patients with auditory hallucinations decreased with a score before therapy of 20-27 then after therapy was given to 12-14.Conclusion : Shouting can be one technique for reducing the signs and symptoms of hallucinations in patients with schizophrenia
